Description:
A total journey of 66 miles, the Leicester Section runs from Norton Junction near Watford Gap to Leicester, with three tunnels and two staircase flights of locks, taking the canal through the heart of rural England. Visit the site of the Inclined Plane at Foxton. At Leicester the canal runs into the River Soar, a meandering non-tidal navigation, which gets deeper and wider as it winds its way to the River Trent at Redhill, near Nottingham.
