Covering the Eastern Section from Leeds up to the summit tunnel at Foulridge, through a whole string of Yorkshire towns, Leeds, Shipley, Bingley, Saltaire, Keighley and Shipton. It follows Airedale up onto the Pennines via the spectacular 2 rise, 3 rise and 5 rise locks at Bingley, all the locks are deep and wide, there are numerous swing bridges, but the rewards are tremendous through magnificent scenery. This wide beam canal at 127 miles long from end to end was the longest single canal ever opened in Britain.
