Description:
The route of the waterway winds its way from Shropshire to Montgomeryshire, through Llanymynech, across The River Vyrnwy to meet the Severn Valley. The canal was never heavily used and after a serious breach in 1936 was quickly abandoned. Its ongoing restoration is one of the remarkable stories of modern canal history. Its a story that has led to the formation of the Waterways Recovery Group.
